This is so lovely!!! I actually heard about the poppies earlier today!!! You see, I'm in an Army JROTC program at my high school, and one of my instructors was wearing a poppie on his shirt. When a cadet asked him about it, he said that a British history teacher who works at our school gave it to him. The teacher had told my instructor that the British celebrate their Veteran's Day with poppies, because there's an old story or legend that says wherever a field of poppies is found, that's the sight of where warriors and soldiers fought and shed blood. So this is really special and meaningful, and I think it's a very sweet and touching way of remembering our veterans and saying "Thank you." This is so beautiful and wonderful!!! Congrats on the DD; you obviously deserve it!!!
